Tracy Lewis Performance builds a patented air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system for Kia applications. It is not a generic catch can — each kit is built to order for a specific engine, and the documented Kia application is the Sorento.

Installation walkthrough
This is an installation and explanation of the Tracy Lewis Catch Can system performed on a 2017 Kia Sorento.
Why a direct-injection Kia needs more than a catch can
Direct injection puts fuel straight into the cylinder, so nothing washes the back of the intake valves. Oil vapour drawn through the PCV system bakes onto them instead, and the carbon that builds up costs airflow, smoothness and economy. Once it has formed, the intake has to come off to clean it.
A conventional catch can only collects oil that has already left the engine. The Tracy Lewis system does more:
- Full-time crankcase vacuum keeps the crankcase under vacuum continuously, so pressure never builds and oil is not pushed past seals or back into the intake.
- Clean Side Separator, included with every kit, addresses oil ingestion upstream of the throttle body — a route an ordinary catch can cannot reach.
What the kit includes
- Patented air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system, built to order for your engine
- Clean Side Separator, included as standard
- Billet aluminum check valves; the high-performance valve is required above 12 psi of boost
- Gates Push-Lok hose as standard, with Gates Barricade or black braided hose available as upgrades
- All fittings and hardware needed for the installation
Ordering
Order through the Tracy Lewis Catch Can and give us your vehicle details when you order, or e-mail us directly at apdeg@aol.com first to confirm fitment. Kits are built per vehicle, so allow a short lead time.
Guides for other makes are on the catch can installation instructions hub, and the full catch can range lists every vehicle-specific kit.

Frequently asked questions
Which Kia does the Tracy Lewis catch can fit?
The documented application is the 2017 Kia Sorento, with a full installation walkthrough on video. E-mail us to confirm fitment for other Kia models before ordering.
Can I install it myself?
Many owners do. The video above walks through the installation on a Sorento, and every kit ships with the fittings and hardware needed to complete the job.
How is this different from a normal catch can?
A normal catch can only traps oil already carried out of the engine. This system holds full-time vacuum on the crankcase and includes a Clean Side Separator that stops oil ingestion upstream of the throttle body.
How long does it take to arrive?
Each kit is built specifically for your vehicle, so there is a short lead time before shipment.
Is a catch can legal where I live?
Some states, California in particular, regulate changes to vehicle emissions systems. Check your local rules before ordering.
