Tracy Lewis Performance builds a patented air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system for Hyundai applications. It is not a generic catch can — each kit is built to order for a specific engine, and the documented Hyundai application is the Veloster.

Why a turbocharged, direct-injected Hyundai needs one
On a direct-injection engine there is no fuel washing across the back of the intake valves, so oil vapour drawn through the PCV system bakes onto them as carbon. The result is lost airflow, rougher running and worse economy, and the only cure once it has happened is removing the intake to clean the valves mechanically.
A conventional catch can only collects oil that has already made it out of the engine. The Tracy Lewis system goes further:
- Full-time crankcase vacuum keeps the crankcase under vacuum continuously, so pressure never builds and oil is not forced past seals or back into the intake.
- Clean Side Separator, included with every kit, addresses oil ingestion upstream of the throttle body — a route an ordinary catch can cannot reach.

How is this different from a normal catch can?
A normal catch can only traps oil already carried out of the engine. This is a patented air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system that holds full-time vacuum on the crankcase and includes a Clean Side Separator to stop oil ingestion upstream of the throttle body.
Do I need the high-performance check valve?
Only if your engine makes more than 12 psi of boost. It goes on the intake manifold side; the standard valve is used on the other side.
How long does it take to arrive?
Each kit is built specifically for your vehicle, so there is a short lead time before shipment.
Is a catch can legal where I live?
Some states, California in particular, regulate changes to vehicle emissions systems. Check your local rules before ordering.
