Tracy Lewis Performance builds a patented air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system for Dodge, Ram and HEMI applications. It is not a generic catch can — each kit is built to order for a specific engine. Three sets of installation instructions are published, covering naturally aspirated HEMI cars, HEMI trucks, and the supercharged Hellcat platform.

Naturally aspirated versus supercharged
The instructions are split because the two cases behave differently.
On a naturally aspirated HEMI, whether in a car or a 6.4L truck, the concern is ordinary blow-by accumulating in the crankcase and being routed back through the PCV system into the intake. In a truck that tows or works hard, sustained high load makes that worse.
On a supercharged Hellcat, boost drives significantly more blow-by past the rings and raises crankcase pressure exactly when the engine is under the most stress. Oil vapour reaching the intake charge on a boosted engine lowers effective octane, which is the last thing you want at full load.
A conventional catch can only collects oil that has already left the engine. The Tracy Lewis system does two more things:
- Full-time crankcase vacuum keeps the crankcase under vacuum continuously rather than only under certain conditions, so pressure never builds and oil is not forced past seals or back into the intake tract.
- Clean Side Separator, included with every kit, stops oil ingestion upstream of the throttle body — a path an ordinary catch can does not reach, and one that matters more under boost.
